Ever since people first ventured into the high Himalaya the emphasis, both in written and visual record, is on the mountains. Although mountains are an integral part of this book a conscious effort has been made to include material and images which give a feel for the unique mixture of the people of Nepal, their agriculture, architecture, art, religion and the superb landscape in which they live.
